The first May bank holiday (2-4 May) will be a Byte training and open event hosted by Calshot Sailing Club. Calshot Sailing Club is a small, friendly club located on Calshot Spit and it offers an opportunity to sail in a similar area to where the SailFest event will be held later in the year, but we will not be crossing the shipping channel.

Unfortunately the club has recently had two of its 3 safety boat engines stolen, so the event will be on a reduced scale, but the club is still keen to invite you all along (those of you who came last time will know that it is a small, friendly club). The Byte class can join in with club racing and on Saturday 2 May we hope that our expert Kev Moore will be running training again, with limited coaching on the water. Club racing starts at 10.30am on Saturday morning, and there should be enough water for quite a while on Saturday morning. Only the Sunday and Monday races will count as part of the Open event (run as a club race from the club line).

In view of the engines loss and reduced scale of event the club has decided to waive the entry fee, though you can make a donation to the club if you wish. Camping and parking fees will however still apply.
